Flea controlWe treat the carpet, the cat's bed, and the building stairs on the same visit
If you want to get rid of fleas, start with the signs below and check off what you see. Our flea control covers carpets, cracks, and the places your pet sleeps, and it works best when your vet treats the animal during the same period.

Small bites clustered around your legs? Do you, or your neighbors, have a cat or a dog?
Why is this happening in your home?
Fleas arrive with pets or from street cats that settle on the stairs and in the garage. They lay their eggs in carpets, rugs, and cracks in parquet, not on the animal itself. That is why treating the animal alone is not enough.
Why regular spraying does not solve it
The flea cocoon stage is highly resistant to pesticides and stays dormant in the carpet for weeks until it senses movement and warmth. So you can spray, feel the problem is over, and see it return two weeks later.
What exactly we do when we arrive
- 1Treating carpets, rugs, and parquet cracks, not just the animal
- 2Materials that stop the flea life cycle, not only the adult insect
- 3Treating pet sleeping areas and the paths they use
- 4Treating the stairs and entrance if the source is outside
- 5A follow-up after 10 days to treat cocoons that have hatched
How can you tell it is fleas without calling anyone?
Bites alone are confusing, and many people keep treating for bed bugs when they have fleas, or the other way around. Here are some simple tests you can do at home today:
- Put on long white socks and walk on the carpet for a while. If there are fleas, you will see black specks jumping onto the socks
- Put the black specks from the bed on a wet tissue. If they leave a reddish-brown color, they are probably flea droppings and not dirt
- Leave a dish of water with a drop of soap under a lamp in the room overnight. Small black insects in the dish the next morning are only a sign, and this will not treat anything
- Look at where the bites are. Flea bites are usually below the knee, and bed bug bites are usually on the arms, the neck, and any skin left uncovered during sleep
The apartment that sat closed for months
When you come back from the North Coast to a closed apartment, or move into one that had cats, the bites may start on the very first day. The home did not get dirty while you were away. The stages lying dormant in the floor all woke up once people started walking on it, so the attack seems to come from nowhere. The same thing happens on ground floors and in apartments where street cats sleep on the doormat. The fix here is to include the entrance and the floor edges in the treatment and block what comes in from the stairs, because an apartment treated on its own stays exposed.
The pet and the home in the same week
If you treat the cat while the floor still has cocoons, it will be infested again within days. If you treat the home and leave the cat, it will bring the new generation back to the same carpet. That is why it is best to line up the vet appointment with our visit, and this order saves you a lot:
- The vet chooses your pet's treatment based on its species, age, and weight
- Never use a product made for dogs on a cat, because some of them are very dangerous for cats
- Wash your pet's bed in hot water if the fabric can take it, or replace it
- Vacuum the carpets and floor edges, then empty the bag or canister outside the apartment
Kids, pets, and furnishings
In a home with pets, the first question is about the pet. The technician will tell you where to keep your cat or dog, for how long, and when to bring them back. If you have a baby who crawls on the carpet, someone pregnant, or someone with asthma or allergies in the home, tell us before the visit so we can choose the right method and duration, and ask your doctor or vet if you have concerns.
- The treatment has no odor, and in most cases you will not need to leave the home
- Put away your pet's food and water bowls before treatment, and tell us if you have birds or a fish tank
- Keep the baby and the pet off the treated carpet until the time the technician gave you has passed
How to prepare the place
- Vacuum the carpets and under the sofas before we arrive
- Pick up toys and clothes from the floor so we can reach all the edges
- Arrange for your vet to treat your pet close to our appointment, and tell us the name of the treatment
- Point out where your pet sleeps, and tell us if street cats hang around the stairs or the garage

Emergency service if any problem comes back during the guarantee
A guarantee with a schedulebeats a longer guarantee
Some companies promise 5 years and others promise 10. The question to ask is: what happens after the technician leaves?
Our answer is in writing. Three follow-up visits on set dates, plus emergency service if a problem appears at any time during the guarantee. The visit after 10 days is not a formality. That is when bed bug eggs hatch, and if it passes without treatment, the infestation comes back.
Questions about fleas
Do fleas live on the human body?
No. Cat and dog fleas bite people, but they usually do not settle on the body. They feed and then jump back to the floor or the animal. That is why a shower and a change of clothes will not end the problem. The solution is in the places inside the home where the life cycle is going on.
I have no cats or dogs, so how did I get fleas?
This is very common, because the animal does not have to be yours. Cats on the stairs and the roof leave eggs and cocoons at the entrance and on the doormat, and mice can bring fleas too. Sometimes the people who lived there before you had a pet, and what stayed in the floor is still waiting.
Why am I seeing more fleas after the spraying?
This is usually normal in the first few days, because the cocoons open gradually and the new fleas come out and die after touching the treatment. Do not wash the carpet before asking the technician. This is also why our first follow-up is after 10 days and the second after 21 days, then every two months.
Do I have to throw out my carpets?
Usually not, because carpets and rugs can be treated where they are. If you carry an infested carpet down the stairs without sealing it in a bag, you can spread fleas along the way. Your pet's old bed is different: if the fabric cannot take washing, it is better to replace it.
Are flea bites dangerous for children?
Usually they are an annoying itch without serious danger, but some people are allergic to them. Trim your child's nails so scratching does not cause wounds. If a bite swells badly or gets inflamed, or your child gets a fever, see a doctor and do not apply creams on your own.
Is store-bought flea spray enough?
Usually not if the whole home is infested, because the spray reaches what is on the surface and misses the floor edges and under the sofas. If you do spray it yourself, read the can, keep children and pets away, and do not put any of it on your pet without your vet's advice.
