Termite and wood borer controlWood borers and termites are different pests, and the treatment depends on which one you have
If you found holes, fine dust, or mud lines on wood, check off what you see and we will tell you the closest match. We treat both, and our termite and wood borer control starts by telling them apart and measuring the damage before any injection.

Fine dust under a wardrobe? A faint sound inside the wood? Wallpaper bulging for no reason?
Why is this happening in your home?
Termites and wood borers work from the inside out. They get in through wooden doors and windows that touch the wall, and through furniture stored somewhere damp. In Alexandria and other humid areas the problem moves much faster because of the moisture.
Why regular spraying does not solve it
By the time you see surface damage, the wood has been eaten from within for a long time. Spraying the outside does not reach the insect paths inside the grain, so the damage quietly continues until the piece fails.
What exactly we do when we arrive
- 1Inspecting furniture, doors, windows, and points of contact with the wall
- 2Identifying activity paths and the level of damage
- 3Direct injection into the grain and the paths
- 4Treating around damp areas to help prevent the infestation from returning
- 5Recommendations to reduce moisture in exposed areas

Termites or wood borers? The simple difference
Termites are not ants at all. They are insects that live in a colony, usually come from the soil, eat wood, and need moisture. Wood borers are beetle larvae that hatch inside the wood and keep tunneling until they come out. Both damage wood, but they leave different traces:
- Holes: wood borers leave small round holes with fine dust beneath them. Termites usually do not leave obvious holes, and they hollow the wood from inside
- Mud: thin mud tubes on a wall are a sign of termites. Wood borers do not make them
- Wings: wings of equal length near a window are usually termites going out to start a new colony
- Spread: wood borers can stay in one piece for a long time. Termites can move from a door frame to a wardrobe beside it as long as they find wood and moisture
Where should a termite control company inspect?
Termites work in the dark, and the piece showing the sign may be the last stop on their path. So we knock on the wood and listen to it, and we follow any mud or dust before injecting anything. These are the places we check:
- Door frames set into the floor, especially at the bathroom and kitchen
- The back of a wardrobe against the wall, especially if that wall is damp
- Wood panels, wood decor, and wood floors
- Used or old furniture, because wood borers often come in with it
- In villas: the fence, old tree trunks, and wood left lying on the soil
Mistakes that hide wood borers and delay treatment
Most people's first reaction is to fix how the wood looks, and that gives the insect more time:
- Painting or varnishing over the holes. It looks better while the tunneling continues underneath
- Moving an infested wardrobe to another room before it is treated
- Breaking the mud lines before the technician sees them, because they show us the path
- Putting off a water leak repair after treatment, because moisture draws the infestation back
Kids, pets, and furnishings
The work here is usually injection at specific points inside the wood and the paths, not spraying the whole room. If there is a baby, someone pregnant, or anyone with asthma or allergies at home, tell us before the visit so we can settle on the right method and waiting time, and ask your doctor if you have concerns.
- The treatment has no odor, and in most cases you will not need to leave home
- Keep children and pets away from treated wood for as long as the technician tells you
- If a door or shelf has been weakened by the infestation, do not put weight on it or let a child lean on it until a carpenter has looked at it
How to prepare the place
- Do not paint or sand the wood before the visit. These signs are our guide
- Take photos of the dust and holes, and if you find an insect or wings, put them in a small sealed bag
- Empty the affected wardrobe and leave some space between it and the wall if you can
- Tell us about any water leak, old or new, and when you bought the piece
Guarantee certificate
3
years
The guarantee covers the pests treated during the visit. If the same problem comes back within this period, we come and treat it.
Follow-up schedule
- 10 daysFollow-up visit to confirm the result
- 21 daysSecond follow-up to treat anything still open
- Every 2 monthsRegular follow-up for the length of the guarantee
Emergency service if any problem comes back during the guarantee
A guarantee with a schedulebeats a longer guarantee
Some companies promise 5 years and others promise 10. The question to ask is: what happens after the technician leaves?
Our answer is in writing. Three follow-up visits on set dates, plus emergency service if a problem appears at any time during the guarantee. The visit after 10 days is not a formality. That is when bed bug eggs hatch, and if it passes without treatment, the infestation comes back.
Questions about termites and wood borers
What is the difference between termites and regular ants?
Termites are a completely different insect that eats wood and lives away from light. If you see a flying insect, look at the waist: an ant has a narrow waist and antennae bent like an elbow. A termite has a broad waist, straight antennae, and wings of equal length. If you are not sure, send us a photo.
Do wood borers spread from one piece to another?
Yes, they can. The adult beetle comes out of the wood, flies, and lays its eggs in the pores of nearby wood, and the pieces most at risk are unpainted or kept somewhere damp. That is why we look at the furniture around the infested piece before deciding what to inject.
Do I have to throw out a wardrobe with wood borers?
Usually not, if the structure is still sound, because injection stops the infestation inside the wood. If the piece has become brittle and crumbles in your hand, the technician will tell you honestly that treating it is not worth it. If you decide to get rid of a piece, do not move it through the house until it is well sealed.
Will eaten wood go back to how it was after treatment?
No. Treatment stops the infestation, but it does not restore the wood that is gone. Old holes will stay visible, and a weakened piece needs a carpenter to reinforce or replace it. The earlier you catch it, the less there is to repair.
Do termites appear in a particular season?
They work all year, but their swarms usually appear in warm weather and after humidity. If you suddenly see a swarm at a window, there is a mature colony somewhere, and it may be close. Do not wait for next season to be sure.
How do I know wood borer treatment worked, and does the guarantee cover it?
Wipe away the dust after treatment and watch: if no new dust appears in the same spot, that is a good sign. And yes, the 3-year guarantee covers termites and wood borers if we treated them at your place. We check back after 10 days and after 21 days, then every two months for the length of the guarantee.
